Your little ones are guaranteed a wonderful time at either of these 2 fine summer camps and registration has become even easier! These will programs they remember for all the right reasons.<br />

<b>In Wakefield</b> A Garden and Opening Day is being planned for Saturday, May 23 from 9 am to 3 pm in Wakefield, across from Palmer’s Motel on Route 16. Demonstrations will take place from 10 am to noon.<br />
These will include :<br />
Aquaponics with Bill Day. Learn about a new technology by which fish and plants support each other.<br />
Children&#8217;s project with Bud Johnston. Create a mini container garden to take home.<br />
Composting with Bob Olberg. Learn how to make compost and use it.<br />
Container gardening with Joan Jackson. A neat way to grow flowers, vegetables and herbs.<br />
The Plant Doctor with Bud Johnston. Get help with your gardening questions and problems.<br />
This sounds like a great time for the gardeners around the Millyard &#038; up and up &#038; down the Cocheco!<br />

And In Rochester an <b>exhibit of the Graniteers Drum &#038; Bugle Corps</b> will be on display at the Rochester Historical Museum at 56 Hanson Street on Memorial Day week-end Saturday May 23 and Sunday May 24 from 1 to 4 pm. This is located behind the police station.<br />
Hundreds of photos, several flags used by the corps in the past, trophies and memorabilia will be available for viewing. The corps&#8217; music repertoires, played throughout the years, will also be available.<br />
Starting as a Boy Scout corps in 1955, it went city-wide in 1959. In 1961, they represented the state of New Hampshire at President John F. Kennedy&#8217;s inaugural parade in Washington, D.C. (pictured) and in 1964 performed at the New York World&#8217;s<br />
Fair. The drum corps disbanded in 1971.<br />
There is no charge for the exhibit. For additional information, log on to : rochestergraniteers.org.<br />

The annual Lilac Festival will have beautiful, healthy lilac bushes for sale, a kids coloring contest, lilac themed gifts, food and refreshments, walking tours of the mansion, and the opening of the Contemporary on the Coast I art exhibition.<br />

<b>Runner&#8217;s Alley and Red Hook Memorial 5K Race</b> Sunday,May. 24. 2009 10:00am<br />
At the Redhook Brewery, 35 Corporate Drive, Portsmouth NH<br />
The annual Runner&#8217;s Alley/Redhook Memorial 5k Road Race/Health Walk, which annually draws more than 1,000 runners, benefits the Krempels Brain Injury Foundation. The race starts at 11 a.m., but come early and have the little ones run the Kids Fun Run at 10:15 a.m.<br />
Kids Fun Run is an informal run for children 8 and under. Kids are split into three groups; 1-3 yr olds, 4-6 yr olds, and 7-8 yr olds.<br />
This race is the second in the Seacoast Road Race Series, You must run 6 out of the 8 races and one must be a 10k to receive high quality unique Series jacket.<br />
Register at either Runner&#8217;s Alley location or download an application and mail in by May 19. Or register online from the Runner&#8217;s Alley web site.<br />
